From the WCA 2001 website:" There are thousands of webcomics out there, and every webcomic creator has their own reasons for making webcomics and their own artistic goals. Some of us decided to make webcomics about webcomics. Here are links to all sorts of strips that deal with art, writing, economics, technology, history, and other aspects of webcomics of interest to their creators. "
I wanted to participate in this event because I see a lot of potential in the webcomix medium. It's all about accessibility and the birthpangs of a truly pluralistic global culture. But don't take my word for it. Click the link and find out for yourself. |

Crackwalker participated in the 2nd Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Tribute event. It's just a fun reason to get a bunch of funky comix together in one place and jam. And there's nothin' wrong with spreading the good elizabethan vibrations around the web. The text used in Crackwalker comes from King Lear, which has been my favorite Shakespeare for a long time. When we did it in high school I fainted during the scene where Glouster gets his eyes yanked out. "Out, vile jelly!"
Now I just think of Black Adder. "..and we will rip out his floppily-doppilies!" |

| Odd Jobs is a mystery webcomic starring David Diangelo - what a character. This strip is amazing. I love Tim Broderick's artwork and his light touch with the script is totally refreshing. Rich and meaty like a perfect steak, but without that heavy feeling in your gut afterwards. Smart and slick. Read it! |

| A God's Life is hilarious. Not to put a label on things, but it's sort of like a mix of a bunch of stuff about the metaphysical nature of divinity and mythology together with a lot of funky world-jumping and dungeons and dragons crossed with hitchiker's guide to the galaxy. Sylvan Migdal has created a charming and colorful world populated with characters that stick in your teeth like skittles. |

| ZWOL is terrific; very Brechtian. Wow, I got to use the word 'Brechtian'. Go me. Ennyhoo, I found the site and I couldn't stop reading. Greg Stephens has done some really good work, and is pushing the boundaries of the webcomics medium. Bookmark this site and check it often! |
